Popularity of physical education and sport among pupils of younger and older school age

TITLE: Popularity of physical education and sport among pupils of younger and older school age. AUTHOR: Lenka Floreová DEPARTMENT: Department of Physical Education SUPERVISOR: PhDr. PaedDr. Ladislav Kašpar, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The aim of this work is finding popularity of PE and sport for pupils younger and older school age in Kladno and the surrounding villages. The survey was conducted through questionnaires completed by 313 respondents. The questionnaire was focused on finding the popularity of sports and attitude of pupils toward physical educations. The goal was to find out what respondents like and dislike at PE classes, what other sport activities pupils perform outside of school and what attracts them try. Questionnaire was also finding out reasons of the popularity and unpopularity of PE and sports activities. The results of this thesis were evaluated using mathematical and statistical methods, and inscribed in the charts and tables. Both sexes were compared on the basis of responses of the research as same as younger and older school ages, and respondents from Kladno and rural schools in Kladno neighbourhood. Collective Evaluation of quality of movie and serial production on Czech-Slovak Movie Database on http: www.csfd.cz

Diploma thesis is entitled, "Collective Evaluation of Quality of Movie and Serial Production of Czech-Slovak Movie Database on http://www.csfd.cz". The main focus of this thesis is on the aggregated evaluation study of quality of movies in several internet movie databases, primarily in CSFD and IMDb. The study also defines these internet databases in the context of social discourse, briefly informs about the history of these databases, and introduces the reader into their functioning. Additionally concerning the quality of movies, databases represent the main authority, and sorting of the movies according to their 'colour' in CSFD is considered a form of agenda-setting. This study discusses the issues of quality, through analysis in an attempt to determine the quality of movies on the database. Much of the thesis discussion revolves around the author's research, which was carried out from September 2011 till the end of March 2012. Unfortunately, because of the extent of diploma thesis and the methodology used in the research, it was not possible to analyze serial production in more detail.

The Popularity of Biology Lesson Topics at Lower Secondary School

This thesis is focused on the popularity of biology topics among pupils sixth through ninth graders. The aim is to identify popular and less popular topics of biology, to verify the existence of a relationship between the popularity of the certain topic and an evaluation at school final report. Another aim is to also to determine whether gender or age has a statistically significant impact on the popularity of biology. At first, the thesis focuses on the system of curricular documents in the form of education programme (so called "RVP" and "ŠVP") for understanding the organization and content of teaching biology a primary school. At second, I have also focused on theoretical description of pupils' personality and its specifics at primary school which is crucial in order to understand their behaviour and characteristic attributes at their age. Furthermore, this thesis also explains the concepts of a subject popularity and pupils' motivation, then identifies and analyses existing domestic and foreign studies dealing with the same or similar topic. Comparing methods of mathematics teaching with a focus on geometry

The goal of this diploma thesis is to observe, characterize ale reflect two well-known methods of teaching mathematics - so-called classical method and method according to professor Hejný, on the example of two second grade class teachers of elementary school with a focus on geometry. In the theoretical part I list several research works concerning class room observation. I use these to set up methodology of my own research. Moreover, the methods are characterized according to the literature and the analysis of the textbooks. Also the outputs of the Framework Education Programme (in Czech "Rámcový vzdělávací program") are presented in this theoretical part. I use these outputs to evaluate whether the method leads students to what they should know. The practical part consists of observing lessons of two teachers, my own teaching experience in the given classes and final questionnaire for students. Data collected from these observations are analysed with the help of qualitative and quantitative methods. The representative of the so-called classical method put emphasis on repetition and system. This diploma thesis is focused on snowboarding and its popularity among pupils of grammar schools in different towns of the Czech Republic. It contains a theoretical part describing the history of snowboarding and general information about this winter sport. The main method of data collection is the survey intended for pupils of grammar schools in six different towns of the Czech Republic - Prague, Brno, Liberec, České Budějovice, Tábor and Mariánské Lázně. This thesis "Factors Influencing Likes/Dislikes of Natural History in Particular Years of Primary School" is mostly about an attitude analysis of pupils on a secondary level of primary schools to taught lesson Natural History. The main goal is to identify particular factors influencing these attitudes. This research is realised through a five-degree questionnaire of Likert's type which includes 26 items in many dimensions. The research sample covers 393 respondents from 6 schools. The results of this work are divided into 2 parts. First part of work identifies popularity of lesson Natural History in relation to other taught lessons and afterwards the work points out particular factors which influence popularity of this lesson. Second part of this work is about evaluation of particular items of questionnaire.

Author describes the difference between students studying secondary vocational school and students from apprentice school with regard to absence. Author also illustrates the crucial influence of family background on the example of educational achievements of one student in 8 past years. Furthermore, the teoretical part summarizes the various influences that participates in the access of students to the school subject of chemistry, recommended approaches and didactic methods.
